Our first stop, Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital
Our first journey throughout Ghana was a joyous one. We traveled the country from modern concrete highways to dirt roads, bustling with open air markets. Our travels, in the hands of our invaluable guide, Azumah, was truly inspirational. At each stop along the way, behind every bead, cloth and basket there was the face of the skilled artisan and gracious host who welcomed us with a smile and warm, "Akwaaba!" Through our products, we try to bring this experience to you.
Behind the efforts of the Ankaful Psychiatric hospital are dedicated professionals, both in the hospital and in the garden or on the looms weaving heritage fabrics were those who don't count hours. They share our vision to improve the quality of life and to ease poverty by addressing mental health issues within their surrounding communities. These programs were funded by our Holiday Pop-Up Shop at TurnStyle in the Columbus Circle Collective, Where Main Street goes underground.
